1972 F250 2wd radius arms...
So, I've been noticing a strange snap sound coming from the right side of the cab, the last 6 months or so on and off when I make a sharp turn.
Started looking at the suspension and I'm wondering if this is normal. To me the radius arm looks bent. Is it suppose to be?
The left one isn't.
If this is bent, where can I get one? I have done a lot of searching online and can't seem to find them for sale anywhere.
My truck is a '72 F250 Custom 2wd 360/auto.
Thanks,
Clint
P.S. The spring doesn't seem to be sitting correctly on the front end of the arm and seems slightly bowed to one side...

Sorry, I was outdoors yesterday and couldn't see your photo clearly. I thought '72 radius arms were the same for F100/F250? Your's is offset while mine is straight. Are both your L/R identical? Is C/S different because they're heavier suspension than non-C/S?

I don't know if F100/F250 are the same. My left one is straight, not like the right one. Mine isn't a camper special, it's just a custom.sargentrs wrote:Sorry, I was outdoors yesterday and couldn't see your photo clearly. I thought '72 radius arms were the same for F100/F250? I can't seem to find much info on the subject. I wish someone had one for sale, then I could at least see what it's suppose to look like.

Re: 1972 F250 2wd radius arms...
Here’s a picture of my truck with one of the radius arms in the background, from when I was doing the radius arm bushings. Definitely not offset like yours appear to be.
However, to bend one of these arms like that would have to be one hell of a wallop. Does the frame bracket at the rear of the arm on that side look deformed versus the other one?You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

IMO, that offset one looks like it was cast that way on purpose. Im leaning towards a swap or an option? I don't know of any options, though. Interesting?
Jeff (basketcase302) are you out there? Anything you know of, maybe F350?

Exactly Randy and wowzers...in over 35 years of working on our bumps and dents I've never seen an OEM Ford radius arm forged like that!"sargentrs"IMO, that offset one looks like it was cast that way on purpose. I'm wondering if it was forged that way to put a negative or positive caster/camber for racing purposes maybe?
I would go as far as to say maybe asphalt flat track oval racing?

UH60L, is there a casting number that you can see anywhere? Got us stumped!
