1967 F-250 Lug Nuts for Alloy Wheels
I'm getting a 1967 F-250 flatbed back on the road, and was given some Mickey Thompson 16.5" 8x6.5 wheels for it. They seem to fit fine, but I am concerned about the lug nuts not having a lot of thread contact with the studs due to the thicker wheel. The MT wheels are for tapered lug nuts, like the old steel wheels. What are the suggested solutions for this? Thanks!

Only one correct answer for this is to replace your wheel studs with longer ones, (requiring pulling the brake drums off).
Does the truck have the Dana 60 rear axle in it?

I think it is a Dana axle, after looking at the drawings, but don't know for sure. There is no tag on it to go by.

You can ID it from this page. If it's the Dana 60 it is easy enough to put longer studs in, (I'd source them from your local NAPA parts store)."magaero"I think it is a Dana axle, after looking at the drawings, but don't know for sure. There is no tag on it to go by.

It does look like the picture. Does anyone have any experience with using wheel spacers with the longer studs on this or similar axles? A little more width wouldn't hurt since my newer wheels and tires are a bit wider.
