Junkyard stuff

Post by Coolmee1 »

Hi I'm new to the site. Here's my question I have a junkyard near to where I live they have several 67-75 trucks with a lot of parts on them some hard to find stuff like today I went there looking for an in bed tire holder I found one I also found a front bumper one on a camper special and yes an under the bed one all there tire include. Also a side tool box in the bed style, bucket seats that look in good shape with the right brackets. I started out going to this place hunting for a bracket for a booster pump and I spent more time finding really cool stuff. So what to do I want to help all the of you find stuff you need and can't find but I don't want to let out where it's at for fear of the online take it off and sell it for way to much people. Did I mention that it's a pull the parts yourself place whice was owned by an old man that didn't let anyone in the yard for parts he would pull parts on his time schedule I remember go there years ago and needing a part rotor I believe for my 62 comet station wagon and he wanted the money up front and he would call me when he got it out. Of course I just went to the next place for it. Back to the parts there's a lot there right now and this place has just opened up so let me know what you are looking for and I will see if it's there and what it will take to get it out of the truck this is a yard that is full of old cars one right next to the other and its in a sand dirt oil you name it mess I want a frontend disc brakes out of one of the trucks so I asked if they would be able to lift it up on something so I can take them out and the lady said as soon as we get to those cars/trucks we will put them up in the air so you can get to those parts as I thought about it they only have about 300 cars to move to get to the one I want the frontend off of. So if I do find your part it may be a while before I can help you out. But small stuff or interior stuff I might be able to help you with an example is the bucket seats which I might want for myself not sure right now I can't get to anyway the doors won't open wide enough to get them out and I can't get to the bolts also I'd have to be able to roll the windows down to get in then cut the top off to get the seats out you get the idea. If this should be in the parts for sale/needed area go ahead and move it there. Thanks for all this great info. Found here has helped me out a lot.
