Hi all,
I own a '69 F100 that my granddad bought new in early '69 and has been in the family ever since. The VIN is not cooperating with respect to the listed possible ranges for EITHER the '68 or '69 years. Seems it can't decide what it wants to be.

Both pages have a Note 2 speaking to just that. My truck VIN *****D82104, could be either it seems, yet I CAN say it's got the '69 trim from the research I have done, notably the safety reflectors and tail-light bezels, and grill. Seems to quack like a '69 duck. Would there be any other number stamped somewhere that would definitively pin it to either year or is it sufficient to trust the trim and grill as a '69?
Thanks...

Re: Truck VIN between listed possible ranges?
From the 1969 VIN page
Your truck is 100+ units into that number range that is listed in official Ford material. I'm guessing that it's titled as a '69 based on you post calling it a '69 F100. It's got trim reflectors that came in '69,and the grill is '69. I think it's safe to trust the clues that it is a '69.However, the Oct. 1972 issue of Ford's technical bulletin 'Shop Tips' lists the consecutive numbers for 1969 as D82,000 thru G29,999 and the 1975 Ford Master Parts Catalog shows D82,001 thru G30,000.
