I took a break for an afternoon to wet a line. Between old line, loose drag, and not fishing for a few months, I screwed up on the second cast of the day. At least the weather was nice.

Yeah, there's the reason I don't own any of those. At least I can get my spinning reels straightened out pretty quickly.

You'd be surprised at how many Zebco 33's I've found in the river over the years. I can usually get them going again and give them to a ramp rat when I go back out.

I never could get the perfect casting with the bait cast reel. Seems to me i was alright with it if i was using heavy lures and weights but not worth a darn with lite lures.

Braided line over nylon helps a lot as well as having the spool mostly full. I usually fill most of the spool up with nylon, and the last 40 or so yards with braided.
