68 F100 Booster pushrod adjuster
I am in the process of converting my truck to disc brakes. I am replacing the booster because it has never done anything since ive owned the truck. The one thats on the truck currently has a non-adjustable pushrod, but the only unit available from the local oreillys is with adjustable pushrod. Only issue is it doesnt come with the end of the pushrod. Does anyone know where i can get these parts?

Re: 68 F100 Booster pushrod adjuster
I'm pretty sure the pushrod is one of our trucks "white elephant" parts, (hard to find) but am amazed they'll sell the pushrod with no end?
Don't rule out fabbing one yourself using a "stud coupler" (longer version of a nut) that you could mig a round end onto).
And maybe try to place an ad here in the "parts wanted" for the entire assembly even, (MC/booster/pushrod) that maybe one of our members has an old core sitting around?

Re: 68 F100 Booster pushrod adjuster
I ended up just ordering one for a F250. For some reason they list a non-adjustable pushrod for the 250, but not the 100. Had to order it from napa, as oreillys says call for availability, and that means its not in your imediate area or not available at all. Napa had one in stock next day. I will make a mental note if i ever have to replace the booster again to just order it for an f250.

Re: 68 F100 Booster pushrod adjuster
I was reminded of a lesson I learned 40+ years ago about NAPA last month.
I had to source outer tie rod ends for my Escape and no matter what vendor, (other than NAPA) I asked the following question, they beat around the bush and would not truthfully answer the question!!!
"Where are the tie rod ends made-country of origin please?"
EVERY SINGLE VENDOR OTHER THAN NAPA WAS SELLING JACKIE CHAN/CHINA PARTS THAT I REFUSE TO BUY!!!
Glad they had it and also good to know for our forum members here to take note!

Re: 68 F100 Booster pushrod adjuster
My uncle might need one for his new F100 project. We'll take a look at it after we finished installing the bumper and winch from 4Wheelonline onto the Wrangler this week and clear the garage. Good to hear the pushrod for F250 could work.68f100ranger wrote:I ended up just ordering one for a F250. For some reason they list a non-adjustable pushrod for the 250, but not the 100. Re: 68 F100 Booster pushrod adjuster
It'll definitely work, just might loose the pedal height adjustment.
I'm currently running a 74 F-350 dual diaphragm on my 68 F-100. Same deal, lost the pedal height adjustment. Kept the original booster and rod end, so might modify the new booster for it at some point.
