1968 F100 brake part help

Post by 68fe360 »

Well I finished of most my king pin and front end rebuild. Now I need help with brake parts info.

I have the 11 x 3 inch drums on all 4. I'm having trouble making sure I order the correct front and rear drums. The parts info on these websites often just suck, and don't which size they are for.

Does anyone some part numbers for reference, or leads ware I can get the right ones?

Thanks

Thanks I wasn't aware the catalog was available online. The fronts were listed in section 11. For future ease of others the 1968 F100 RWD front hub and drum for the 11" X 3" is C8TZ1102E You might as well order the correct hold down hardware kit while you are it. The local part shops never have the correct kit in stock for the 3" shoes. Once you convice the none Napa store that yes there is a 3" wide option, and yes it is different. Way different. They still take longer to recieve it then if you just order it your self. Not endorsement of Napa. Thet just seem to have guys old enough that they don't insist that drum brakes are only put on the rear. :cuss:

Found a set of the front drums on Rock Auto for $38 @

My only hesitation on them is the picture. It looks like the rear drum. Doing some research I ran accross a few posts on others sites that state you have to knock the hub out and reinstall into your new drums. Sounds like more fun with rusty parts. Yay! I hope the sarcasm translated into text.

Then again maybe the picture is just represenative, and will come with new hubs as they are suposed to. Hope springs eternal.

Again thanks for the link! It will go a long way to making feel alot more comfortable that the correct part is being ordered.
