Radio repair

I have successfully repaired the AM radio in my '67. The delay was gathering the correct test equipment and the schematics. I did radio repair in the U.S. Army from 1988 to 1996, mainly on Vietnam era GRC series and the newer digital radios (which weren't much fun because they were all plug and play).

If anyone has a nonfunctioning radio (original to our trucks) I'm more than willing to attempt a repair. I'm not in this for the money but for the challenge, plus it gets me out of the house and into the shop. PM me if you want help with a radio.

Radio repair has always had a certain appeal for me. My dad and step-dad were both Ham's. I played around with AM tube radios in high school. It was fun to have your bench setup the way you liked it, pull a chassis out, and go to town testing tubes, replacing paper caps, resistors,filters. I can certainly appreciate the lure. I have an AM philco in my 72 I need to bench test with power and ground before I condemn it as non-functional, but if it wont power up i'll send it your way. Always happy to feed the hobby.

Good deal. I have to have "projects" for the weekend or my wife will come up with something for us to do, which isn't fun by my standards.
