After seeing what QA1's shocks look like after a couple years of daily driving I'll stick with junk yard OEM spec parts that have millions of miles of real life duty on them. Honestly the K member and front suspension doesn't matter too much when we are blessed with a weak frame.

Well, they have sent out propaganda stating their '65-'72 IFS is available for pre-order, set to ship sometime in early February.

But, y'all better be sitting down when you see the price.....but in the end, I think it's in the same range as No Limit, Heidts, etc...

Wow! Thats not even remotely affordable. Think I'll stick with a CV swap and enjoy the ride with some cash left in my pocket.

"Stop using junkyard parts to modernize your pickup"..............well let's see here.....$4000 for theirs vs under $1000 for a Crown Vic completely rebuilt and ANY parts store will have ANY parts you need for the more than proven CV front end.......no thanks guys.....I'll stick with the junkyard parts.......I dont have the "A shop turned the wrenches on my car" kind of money........

What's even funnier is Fatman offers a hub-hub kit which includes the QA-1 coilovers for $2595, less the brakes/hubs. CV swap still way more cost effective.

I went with a Heidts. I figured that by the time I found a CV , and really though a CV Police Interceptor would be better though more expensive, spent the money to rebuild it ( cause whats the point in throwing a used front end with significantly used parts into a new build ) and then spent the time and effort it takes to fab it into place , I would be better off going all new engineered. I did the math and taking everything into consideration , the Heidts was only 500 to 700 more. Not really a whole lot of money in the grand scheme of things. When you do a rebuild don't forget to add in your time and labour to do the work. Your time and labour is worth something. What are you worth? To me that's all part of the cost. Even if you don't do a rebuild the parts are already 100,000 + miles on them to begin with and will need replacing sooner rather than later so why not do it when the suspension is easy access and easy to work on. With new I'm 100,000 ahead of the game and the truck will never see that kind of mileage as long as I have it. To me the engineered front end also adds to the factor. I get though that not everyone can do the extra coin and some just want a more comfortable driver.

Yeah . Maybe. I don't know if you've seen any of my other threads but it seems like I am clueless at adding pictures even when someone helps me through it. I am by no means a mechanic and I have others to do a lot of work. Someone here will ask me a question and I will be unable to help them as I don't know myself.
The truck has been about 4 yrs in progress now. I literally had no where to work on it until about 2 months ago, when I finally built my shop, and thus relied on paying others. I now have room but still need others for help. I AM mechanically inclined but not a mechanic and not confident I am always doing it the proper way. I have learned tons since I started and a LOT from this site. I am very good at research so that's what I do to help my guys who are more knowledgeable mechanically.
I was not on here much in the beginning except for research as the project was going very slow but now that the shop is built I am going at the truck in earnest hence why my activity has picked up.
The project started out as a $10,000 simple restoration and has now turned into probably a $40,000 full restomod. The more research I did , the more cool things I found and ideas that I came up with , the more it got deeper and deeper and more expensive that I finally gave in a said eff it and do it the exact way that I wanted it to be with no regrets. I already have an original 80's "muscle" car so this one was going to be for shits and giggles.
One thing about my project that's kinda neat is that although I have to pay others to do a lot of work, the guys that I have contacted have told me that they pick and chose their project cause they can. When I talk to them about mine , the direction I want to go and the ideas in my head , everyone has told me how cool it sounds and that they want to work on mine. I dunno , just gives me a little justification on the direction I am heading. That being said I am not looking for any accolades on what I am doing. Just doing it for myself.
