F250 long bed conversion
Ok i got this f250 for cheap and want to shorten the frame. Im going to be removing the leafs and doing a 4 link set up. Ive read that some people that did this mod ran into the issue of the chassis being different widths when they went to weld back together. So in trying to avoid that i shifted my cut more towards the rear where the frame is the same. The leafs will be coming of at some point just want to see anyones input. Should i remove leafs now to allow me a more offset on the cut?

The '73-'79 frames get wider behind the cab , the earlier ones are straight.
If when you cut the frame it spreads out you can pull it back and weld it .
The only advantage I see to leaving the leaf springs in place is to hold up the back and make it easier to move around.
