1967 door release mechanism

Post by ptbump67 »

Does anyone sell a 1967 door release mechanism for the f-100/250? If not, the reproduction for the 1966 and older looks the same but does not have a threaded hole in the end of the shaft for the door handle screw.

I used one from a 66 on my 67. Had to bolt the arm to the mechanism and drill/tap a hole for the handle. I used a nylock nut on the arm and it has not backed after about 2 years of my daughter driving it to college. Mine is on the drivers door.
It bolts directly in the factory attachment holes in the door. The splined shaft does not stick out quite as far as the factory one, but has worked well for me. You will find that the door panel is flexed slightly when tightening the handle which can make moving the handle a bit stiffer. It's not perfect but in lieu of a direct replacement, it's the best I've found.
