IP address ban

Post by Jacksdad »

I usually use my phone to log on, but when I just tried on my desktop it says my IP address has been blocked. Hopefully I didn't do anything to warrant it - any way of removing it?

I think I know what the problem is. It seems my IP address has changed from San Diego...to the Netherlands. I have no idea what happened, but the cat has taken to sleeping on the keyboard lately and changing the settings on the damned thing. We turn it off at night, but I guess it was too late. Doesn't really explain why I keep getting directed to the Canadian Amazon site though. I hate computer issues like this :hw:

Does it tell you what IP is banned? (PM it to me if so)

I imagine it got banned in a range when we were having so much spam trouble, but I should be able to exclude the one you need from banning if it is static.

Okay - after baffling the IT team at Cox cable, one guy said he felt it was the router, so we did a factory reset and reboot with no change. I went into the control panel to look at the network settings, and discovered we were logged on to two networks - ours and another I'd never heard of. Just been changing passwords - just in case - and told my wife to do the same.
And I'm back in San Diego :D
