Best source for new leaf springs

Post by dtcohen »

Where is a good place to get new leaf springs? I found a company called General spring that sells a 950lb capacity spring and a 1250lb capacity spring. Any thoughts on the two different ratings?

I ended up ordering from General Spring.

https://www.generalspringkc.com/product_p/43-445.htm

They had the best price I could find and the springs are made in the USA.

$170 per spring plus $80 for shipping so $440 total. Compared to $428.75 per spring for the same 1,250lb rated spring from another source I thought this was a pretty good deal.

Apologies for the absence and lack of response. I did get the springs. I ended up going with the 5 leaf 1,250lb springs. When I got them I compared them to the original four leaf springs. It looks like they just added one leaf to the original 4 leaf pack, so if it rides too rough I can just remove the extra leaf. Appearance wise the springs looked like they were high quality and well assembled. They were made in the USA. I haven't had a chance to drive the truck with them installed because of some other issues. I will post some pictures and a review of the ride quality when I get the truck running again.

All that being said, based on what I know so far I would say that General spring is a good source for replacement springs. Especially given the price that other suppliers are asking for a set of replacement springs.

I got the truck up and running and have had a chance to drive it a few times. The springs ride great. I am very happy with them and would definitely recommend them.
