serial number?

Post by Zorm »

Looking at SteelRubber for maybe some weather stripping. One kit says before serial # 40,001, where can I find that. The VIN does not look like it has anything like that .

That's the last five digits of the VIN. Example F26YEC123456.

Recommend ‘Precision’ for door weatherstripping if that’s what you’re looking for.
I got mine off ebay.

I think it's for the bottom window seals. Early trucks used felt, later ones rubber. It's easier to look since your door may have been swapped at one time.

Can you please go into further detail. I've heard bad things about LMC, and great things about Dennis Carpenter. Going to buy here in the next couple weeks...

This might be the dreaded hijack, but I got the tip on here that the door seals from ‘Precision’ brand were good, and it turned out to be true.
