Amazing how fast the bumpsides are dissapearing from pick-n-pull type yards

When i got my bump side about 4 yrs ago it was in pretty good shape but some things still needed worked on. I started scouring junk yards all around the area and there was nothing to be found. The yards i talked to said all those old trucks have been gone for awhile. It does really suck when your trying to fix something or rebuild something the only thing you can do is get new or rebuilt parts which is not cheap or go to CL which is another crapshoot!

Went to the wrecking yards this morning with my son and found three bumps.

I've been on the look out for small block motor mounts - but not this kind...

Ain't that the truth - a '70 2bbl 350 or 400 according to the casting numbers

I might get a 455 4 bbl that somebody had laying around. maybe a 500 caddy but a garbage smogger pontiac.. somebodies brain was frazzled..

Yep - a few years back, I had a Buick 445 Wildcat motor going spare that nearly ended up in a few non-GM projects. But a 255hp small block?

225 on a good day of course its the same power as a 360....

And at least an FE bolts in. The conversion motor mounts were nicely made, but that's a lot of trouble to go to.

Living in NY....it's pretty common not to find a worth while Bump (if any)in a yard.Most have rotted right into the farmer's field where they were parked My buddies dad owns a junk yard and he lets me know when one comes in but, they leave a lot to be desired

My friend Ron in Maryland suffers the same way. The dents are about all that's left. The bumps are all but gone.

The yard by me never had bumps the past few years I've been going. They had some dents but in the last few months they are down to 2 dents that are junk. I now need a tailgate but might be having to build one.
