New to Me 1972 F100 Sport Custom

Post by Subzero »

Hi everyone, been awhile since I've been active on the forum. Sadly I had to sell my 1968 F100 earlier this year as I went through some other difficulties and it ended up sitting and not being used. But today was a good day and I was able to pick up a 1972 Sport Custom in Aqua blue. It's much more rust free and less weathered shape than my 68' was. It's got a 302 and a C4 trans with only 91K miles on the whole truck. All original, but I plan to repaint the faded original blue and put a new exhaust, radio, seat, and a few other odds in ends with it. Not a spot of rust on this thing and I found it local which is very hard to find one not rusting out, looks to have been factory under coated. I've got big plans for this one and will be sure to hang on to it for a very long time as I regretted getting rid of the 68' since I sold it. Time to rebuild and make an even better one. Now I just need to get a newer car to drive that gets good mileage, I will be selling my 1989 F150 4WD which is the daily right now, the 72 is much more my style of truck. The keys to the truck came with a small brass triangle tag that says FD Ford 2585, does anyone know what this was from? Thought it was interesting maybe from the dealership or something

I could be mistaken and maybe someone else can clarify this but I think if you lose your keys you can tell a Ford dealership this number and get a duplicate key made...
