RE: 1966 SWB 240 AT
My truck has 16" rims and a 15" spare. I assume the 15" is original for my model. Am I correct?
Thanks, Rod

Re: 1966 F100 Rim size confusion
Thanks for the confirmation. In my original owners manual I see some trucks had 16" wheels like the F250.

Are you sure it's 16 or 16.5? Back in the day some work trucks had 16.5 not to be confused with 16.

Re: 1966 F100 Rim size confusion
15" rims are standard for the 66's and later trucks and the 16" were an option. Some work trucks as mentioned did have 16.5" rims and most of them were "split rims." I don't think I have ever seen them on Ford's but I know International trucks had them available.

I've run across a couple of 66-72 era F100s in the area with original 16" five lug wheels.

16's would be good if you need clearance or larger diam tires, but can you still buy 16" tires and if so at a reasonable price?mk wrote:I've run across a couple of 66-72 era F100s in the area with original 16" five lug wheels.
