swapping NP435's
Want to swap in a rebuilt NP435 for the one in my '74 highboy. Any reason it should not be a direct same for same replacement?

Make sure the tail and input shafts are the same length as yours and verify the the spline count and you should be good. You may need to re use your tail housing but that's not hard to swap. I just rebuilt mine for few bucks and to be honest it wasn't that hard.
