1969 daily driver build

Post by Slacker809 »

I have a 1969 f100 I bought about a week ago. It has a great running 351 windsor and a t18 4 speed. 9 inch rear with 4.10 gears and a locker. No power steering or brakes. It drives like a dump truck lol.

Want list:
1. Crown vic swap
2. 8.8 explorer disc rear end. 3.55 gears and Trac lok
3. Axle flip
4. M5R2 5 speed
5. Gas tank relocated
6. Completely rewired. Using aftermarket gauge cluster and leds.
7. Unsure about color or interior. It was lunar green from the factory.
8. Rebuild engine. Runs great but we all want more.

I'm wanting to build a truck that can go down the interstate at 80mph with no problems.

What is your guys opinion on this? Anybody see anything that won't work or is just a bad idea. Also if you see something that may be easier or cheaper let me know also.

Your wish list will work. Let the journey begin...

It prolly feels like a dump truck because of no PS or PB. On a stock truck, adding those, a front sway bar, better shocks, and decent tires will markedly improve ride quality and handling.

80 mph? ... just know that the aerodynamics of these trucks are not like a barn door. Rather, the entire barn!
