Left choke on while driving, won't stop smoking

Post by 69F100Chadley »

i got a 69, pulled the choke out on it to start and forgot to push it back in. also my fuel gauge doesn't work. got to going down the road about 10 miles and ran out of gas. had a gas can handy, put 5 gallons in stand started it back up. thats when i noticed that the choke was still pulled out. and thats about the time i noticed smoke billowing out from underneath the hood. kept smoking. any advice to get the smoking to stop... engine runs fine to my knowledge. just a lot of smoke. :help:

First thing to do in my opinion would be to locate the source of the smoke. Then you will have a better idea how to figure out the cause and cure.
Find 'em....Buy 'em....Fix 'em.....Drive 'em....Love 'em

Welcome to the site.
Driving with the choke closed generaly only hurts your gas milage.
it can make black smoke from your exhaust pipe.
You'll have to do more research to find the cause of you're smoke.
