The blower motor housing on the A/C unit in my 68 blocks the heat flow on the driver's side. What is a good unit to replace it with that wouldn't do that? If any.
Mine is a dealer add on and works well, but may replace it.

I think it depends how deep you want to go? maybe a different evaporator head would work so you can keep all your plumbing? If you go the R134a route id recommend going new aftermarket vs refitting your R12 system. IMO it would be a better result. Do you have a pic of the evaporator head you have now?

I like that color. Thats weird they would have that a/c head blocking the heater so badly. I grabbed one similar out of a truck in a wrecking yard I was thinking of using in my 71 4x4 because it contours with the dash and I thought the shifter would miss it. but Ill be sure to take a good look at where it sits. If you do pull that system out keep me in mind, id be interested in buying it.
