Frame Crossmember

Post by fuzzier1 »

So I pulled the 360 from my truck today (finally). I found something a previous owner did to the frame. The second crossmember, under the transmission, was removed. I'm going to be installing A CV front end soon, anyone think I need to reinstall it (don't have it, will have to find one)? Leave it off and just box the whole frame? Or just make my own crossmember? Thoughts anyone.

I would reinstall it. That's a lot of unsupported frame if you don't at that load point for the front suspension.

That's what I was thinking too. Anyone have a junk frame they want to tackle to get that off of and sell me?

Yea Hio Silver, that's what I decided over the last couple of days. Getting that cross member would be more hassle than what I would want to pay for it. I can also get rid of the trailing arm mounts to boot so... I will fab it.
