Two interesting trucks for sale

Post by farmallmta »

One is listed as a 66/67 F250 Camper Special. It's a '67 pickup manufactured in November of '66: the Title says it's a 66 and the VIN and Title match. According to the owner. So if this is all on the up and up, you could own the only '66 Ford F250 that's actually a '67,

The second interesting pickup is a '65 F250 with an apparently homebrew Contractor Special Onan generator set up, like the bumpside Contractor Specials were set up with. It would be interesting to see if the fender hackout and bracket mounting was done neatly or crudely.

I hope a good Ford guy winds up with these trucks.

The VIN's on our trucks don't actually have the model year on them they have a number to decode. They are like this
67 Model Year
A00,000-B81,999

68 Model Year
C00,000-D81,999

69 Model Year
D96,000-F63,999

70 Model Year
G30,000-J89,999

71 Model Year
J70,000-M21,999

72 Model year
M40,000-P69,000

So where ever your number on the VIN falls that will be the year of the model year of you truck. Keep in mind that the model year does not correspond with the earth year. The model year starts in July of the previous year. So my guess is the title has the mistake not the truck. Probably not typed in correct when new and just stayed that way. (If the VIN has a number Before A00,000 That would make the truck unique). Also he's decoded the truck to November 1966 He had to get that of the VIN. Tells me the title is wrong. I noticed the 70 and 71's have an overlap in the numbers.

Looks like a couple of great projects for... other better men. Not so sure I agree about the rust though.

I'm from Michigan, if my trucks were that rusty I'd be a happy man.

That under hood generator is a rare option , if it's original.

True. I suppose i'm being a little too picky for old trucks. ...it wouldn't be the first time I've heard that.

The generator option is rare, and cool IMO. I know it was a factory option from 67-72, but I'm not sure about before. My red 69 actually has the inner fender from a generator option truck. My dad swapped for it after he had a wreck years ago. He had always told me it was the inner fender from a 4x4. I only found out what it really was after I got older. Mainly because :fr: .
