C6 issues

C6 issues

Hey guys I have a issue with me c6 tranny,I warm me f-100 up and she'll go into gear but when I drive to the servo and fill up she won't go into gear at all,after abt 5-10 min and giving it a few revs she'll jump into gear this is a new gearbox too,I keep checking fluid levels,one min it's low then it's high...this is really doin me head in pls help

Filter could be clogged and allowing an air leak. I had an issue with a clogged trans cooler that burned up a trans before by doing this.

:yt: another vote for a clogged or dirty filter. Believe I have a filter and the gasket here if you need one.

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!
Many Ford bumps / one 76' EB / and several dents through the years.
A lot of "oddball" Ford parts collected from working on them for 34 years now!

C6 doesn't have a filter, it has a screen and it takes quite a bit of debris to clog one.
New trans leads me to suspect that the fluid level is low and not a mechanical issue. Check the fluid, on level ground, idling in park. Don't forget to set the parking brake.

460 is running well. Just in the middle of a 3G install right now.
Body work and paint begins in two weeks :)
