Can we get those posts removed?

Well over 1000 spam posts - that's some serious work ethic on their part. The total kept rising all night. Still not sure what they hope to achieve though. Surely they must know they're all going to be deleted.

Wow, sure is alot. Seems weird to post so much advertising a in a relatively low traffic venue.

ok just for fun, WHAT IF, this is a Red Dawn type of scenario? ok, The Russians are going to invade or start some sort of aggressive campaign, they have operatives working in the united states, they need away to send very important sets of code. They know all the otherwise considered secret frequencies are monitored and they trust no one. What better way to get secret code out to Russian operatives working in the United States other than using a American public low traffic forum and disguising it as useless advertising?????? Even better is they know the posts will be deleted by the moderators of the site promptly so minimal risk of the code staying out in the public's eye for more than a day or so. Its perfect....

Wow!

I've always wondered if these spammers actually think any of us would ever actually buy anything from them and what they hope to gain.

I suppose what you said could actually work and it wouldn't necessarily even have to be in Russian, just a lot of incoherent gibberish. Terrorists were able to use game consoles to send messages, so yeah, who knows what method they could think of next. :dk:

They get paid based on the number of ads they post on forums. Most of the IPs are from Amsterdam or other proxies.

Oh yeah, 1200 or so posts just got whacked.

I moderate on a couple of online forums, and this is the kind of thing that I dread. One or two spammers is no biggie, but a coordinated attack like that (no other word for it) is a whole other thing. I noticed they picked the best time to do it with most moderators asleep. Sneaky.

Only Keith and he's been MIA for a while. He never gave us keys to keep that kingdom functioning.
