Rarity/ difficulty of fixing up a crew cab truck ?
Just curious about how rare bumpside crew cab trucks are and how difficult it would be to track down parts to fix one up? Like production numbers and such, I've looked for them in my weekly craigslist checking, I could not find one with 300 miles sadly, and I've been checking for about 6 months I'd kill to rebuild one for my next project but I don't really know anything about them or where to find them
Bumpside Ford truck, made out of an 1967 f100, a 1972 f100, a 1978 lincoln, a 1987 f250, a 1993 crown victoria, a 2003 crown victora, and a whole lot of cutoff wheels and mig wire. Doesnt have many uses but is amazing at confusing the guy behind the parts store counter

The crew cabs are considered prizes for sure. most of them originally bought by forestry services or municipalities. Bone basic low option trucks that usually got ridin hard and put away wet until they were simply scrapped or hopefully auctioned off. Civilian Crew cabs that had options are even harder to find because much fewer of those were made. They were rediculously exspensive for the day. My 72 f350 longbed crew SRW civilain truck with all the ranger xlt options was 10k. Yikes vs 2-4k for a standard cab truck. Your probably going to have a hard time finding something in the mid-west or east coast due to winters so I would look on the west coast and ship to you. whats hard to find on a crew cab is rear doors/ door pieces. and a couple misc trim pieces that are crew specific. everything else though is just a bump.

Thanks for all the replies! I just read the entire build thread, I think calfdemon did an amazing job on that bump. If time and money will ever cooperate I plan on doing a fuel injected 460, e4od and dana 60 rear crew cab bump. Just something I can reliably daily drive and use as a truck. Thats a cool crewcab you posted a craigslist link to chevyeater, glad to know they do exist somewheres in the southern hemisphere shame I don't have the room (or money ) for another vehicle or it'd be time for a roadtrip!
