Does Sta-bil go bad ?

Post by crazyhorse »

I "stocked up" on Sta-bil for Y2K .
I was cleaning out some of the garage and found it.
I had stored a case of Sta- bil in the unopened original case container, put inside a water tight sealed bucket.
I opened 1 of the bottles and it smells normal.

I read if unopened , it lasts up to 2 years , but this would be about 16 years old.

Wow man !!!!!!!!!!
Y2K prep....that takes me back....

After 16 years.....i have no idea if it would be any good.
Not even sure how you could test it to see if it is.

It was sealed. SO....maybe?

I'd use it. If it had a 2 yr shelf life then I doubt it had any active ingredients that deteriorated over time while it was sealed up. Just give it a good shake before use and see what happens.
