F 100 or 250

Post by travis6370 »

I've got my 69 Ranger up for sale and the original owner contacted me about it. He sold the truck to his brother who then traded it as a debt repayment. Found out the 302 / C4 are out of a 78 F100. It's got a hi rise intake with a Summit carb, mild comp cam, new double hump heads and bored 0.30 over, along with the tilt column and disc brakes and apparently rear axle. Why would someone take a perfectly good 250 and turn it in to a half ton with F250 springs still under it. I've got one dent on the hood and some sh***y PlastDip to remove before somebody wants to throw some money my way. Will all this Frankenstein stuff make it less desirable and make it harder to sell ? Also I'm asking $4,000 once I get all the PlastiDip off and a nice patina going on. Give me a call if anyone is interested. 409-549-0730 Benny T

Sounds as though previous owner used what he had to build or rebuild a truck. Like a Heinz 57. Since many parts interchange, making a running truck out of what you have is easy. Whether or not selling the truck is easy depends mostly on the price and value received.

Sounds like they went disc brakes cheaply and got five lugs out of the deal. The F250 frame is heavier gauge metal. The rear spring package rides well for being heavy duty.

I guess it could be argued that it's just a F150 now :)

I'm about to buy some beams and do an axle flip, is there a difference in the springs when ordering ?
