Re: Need Help Identifying Truck
My F350 had that style of mirror when I bought it. Useless things - I could never tighten them enough that they wouldn't move back at freeway speeds. I went with West Coast mirrors and couldn't be happier.ncmikeyb wrote:Yeah the emblem on a higher res photo says 100 by the front turn signal. I don't understand those mirrors. I can't find those on any others from around that year. They look like GM style.
Good luck finding your truck

Re: Need Help Identifying Truck
I might have missed it somewhere but any information when, where the truck was sold and when? This could help in narrowing down which area members might see a truck like that.

Re: Need Help Identifying Truck
Which photos came first? In the pic with the ice chest on back, I believe I see the "Sport Custom" emblem at the top rear corner. Belt line moulding was optional and requested on the Sport Custom models. In the pics at the beach, no hubcaps, and I can only see 5 lugs. The grille inserts make it a '71. That narrows it down to a '71 F100 Sport Custom 4x4 (you can see the front diff in the beach pics) base with minimal options. The beach pics show it with no passenger side mirror while your first pic shows it with a driver side sport mirror so the sport mirror probably came on the truck and he added the towing mirrors later. Also, probably added the hubcaps later. The beach pics don't show the rod holders but the last group of pics do show them, so probably the beach pics were closer to it's original state. I'm not very good at the paint colors I'd pick the "chrome yellow" from the color chart http://www.fordification.com/library/ma ... temId=5736 which some would call school bus yellow. That makes it a two tone Wimbledon White (probably)/Chrome Yellow paint scheme. Oddly, it looks like it has the bed side toolbox, in the beach photos, which was not common on F100's. That's almost enough information to guess at the VIN number. Any idea what city he might have bought it in?

Or "Prairie Yellow" 1971.
To my eye anyway, from your pics.
