My son wants a step side and cant find any in our area except this one for $300

It looks like one that Dad ordered new in 1957 so that's my guess. Wheel base I will just guess at either 127 or 129 inches. The tailgate is worth $300. Is the bed wood or steel, that would add to the cost of your restoration as well.

I can't tell by those pictures, But I know the early fifties were shorter than our years.

It is anywhere from a 57-72. You can tell from the short running boards. 53-56 had long running boards that went to the front fenders. The beds are the same from 57 to 72. The fenders on a 57-72 bed are attached higher to the bedsides than the 53-56 beds, even though the fenders and bedsides are identical. This bed is an F250. It has the stake pocket in the middle.
