Facebook forums killing our main site??

Post by gregamorton »

Guys I have been on here for many years and have lately spent more of my time on Facebook fordification and other bump sites. I have noticed that it seems that it has really slowed down our main sites that we Have injoyed for years before Facebook. On social media it seems there is more arguing and trash talk than what we have had here for years. What I'm getting at is maybe we should take a bit more time to visit our main sites Keith has built for us. Maybe we can get this site up busy again like it once was.

Even though I visit the other sites,i use this forum as my main source of info. Fordification . com and its members have been a tremendous help to me and the work i have completed so far on my 69. Two thumbs up to Keith for putting all the time and effort it takes to have such a great site. :fr:

I rarely visit the FB site. It's a little too dynamic for my taste.

I despise FB, don't have and won't have an account for this very same reason. I was wondering why postings had dropped off. Early on after joining here I went over to "the dark side" and saw the exact same thing as on FB. I left there after a couple of months and haven't been back. In my 8+ years here at Fordification I think I've seen maybe two "arguments" and those were shut down quickly by the mods. Kudos to Keith and our moderators for keeping this forum clean and family friendly. This is my home away from home and best site on the web, keeping it focused on the trucks and not on the mud slinging that goes on elsewhere. I'll stay here!

I have wondered why there isn't more postings on this site, now I know.
I don't have FB, so I don't know what the Ford Forums are like there.

There are so many bumps in the world I would think that there would be more traffic here, this is the best site on the net!

Facebook is great for instant gratification and quick answers to problems. It's real curse it that it exists in the moment and doesn't work well as a research resource. I consider it a waste of time and do not participate...

The slow down of posting on the main site isn't necessarily a bad thing (bandwidth costs money). This forum paired with the main technical site is a resource that guys can use to learn about other folk's experiences without asking the same question over and over.

SpaceBook is not for me. I already have 50yrs of old girlfriends trying to find me via my wife's account.
I've seen some of the action on other's accounts and it looks to be a sometimes hostile and hurtful place.
I do go to the FTE site because it's more active but my preference would be this site if more active.
I still use the tech forums for a reference.
Lately I've come here to search and a couple times it was locked out or something. Took me to a screen that said something like "Owner Fordific exceeded number of blah blah blah." :?

Facebook really sucks! Zuckerberg is an Un-American commie tax evader that denounced his citizenship and moved to another country. FB is full of spyware and malware that wants to track you and they want to know everything about you.

If FB was the only site on the internet (and that's what Zuckerberg is striving for) I would cut the internet cord.

FORDIFICATION forums are the best, period................ :fr:

One time I went on Facebook and I died.
Guess I won't be doing that again.

HA ha what is less american than denouncing your citizenship to evade taxes! Isn't that what we are founded on?

I'm not on facebook either, don't care for it, but i have noticed its taken 'traffic' away from many of the forums i check.

I do have a Facebook account but I am rarely on there. I have explored the bump facebook stuff but this site has so much technical stuff plus a huge amount of builds and how they got there. This site is awesome!!
