Will you sell it?!

Post by thejunkman »

So, lately on the rare occasions that the rainy weather permits me taking out the bump, I've been getting harassed (in a good way) by guys wanting to buy my truck. Yesterday a guy was riding my butt for miles, making every turn I made, I thought he wanted trouble... so I pulled over, he followed me into a parking lot aggressively only to try to buy my truck  . I've had offers from $1500 to $5000. In my opinion you could get a lot more vehicle for 5k than my truck. The only problem is that I can't ever sell it no matter the offer. My beautiful wife bought this truck for me behind my back with some of our wedding money right after we got married (for fathers day, since I took her little boy in as my own a few years before). She said I can buy all the toys I want when we get the money some day, but I'm forbidden to ever sell this truck. But this summer especially there's a huge spike in interest. Maybe it's all the shows on discovery... who knows. Any of you guys experiencing this too?

If you don't want to sell your vehicle , don't price it .
There are some folks that have lots of money and don't mind paying for something they want/like.
So if you price it , price it high enough that you hope they buy it.

Ditto, not for sale, or ask them what they'll offer and then laugh.

I built my truck to do many things well and would be hard pressed to find another that could do the same things. It's a work truck and has a job when needed so there's no reason to sell it. I have had guys try to buy my ranchero a couple times since it's been off the road but it's just waiting patiently.

I have had a LOT of people offer to buy my crew since I finished it last year and the answer is always no. Not kidding, I have had 3 offers over $20000.00 for the truck and I just cannot part with it. Took me too long to find the crew, and then 3 years of building it to get it where it is now. Its nice to know though that if I ever come upon hard times and need some money, I can sell my truck for quite a bit more than I have into it. I have 14k into it and have been offered 20k, 22k, and 25k for it. Still not worth it to me.

Holy Cow Rich you got offered 25k for your crew?? I must admit that would have been a hard decision for me. God my 700 buck crew is looking better and better now.
