Nice truck overall, Identical to mine other than mine was less rusty (although rusted out for t.p.o.ca), yours is less brown, and less dented/broke in half/rolled/wrecked. It is also less rusty than your 68 or that cheby.

I took a better look underneath last night, and there is a little more rust than I expected, but overall it is in pretty good shape. There is a few holes in the floor here and there, and that u-channel that goes under the middle of the can is rotted at the ends. It probably would have been in better shape if the p.o. wouldn't have went mudding with it. Now think about it, the Bronco has been around almost ten years longer than the suburban and is still in better shape. It obviously shows that chevys are just scrap metal.

Hey Stealth69,

Did your old Bronco have round or square headlights? If they were round, it was an early 78. If they were square, it was either a 78 1/2 or 79.
Before mid 78 any headlight other than round was illegal in the U.S.

Friday we took the top off to see what it would look like

Though I would give this a little update now that my bronco is almost ready to be a daily driver. (Waiting on the registration) A lot of work has been done to it mechanically and some cosmetics. Had to replace a rear spring mount and fabricate a new front coil spring bucket since they were both rusted pretty good. Brakes have been gone through, and the gas tank has been repaired and hooked up. Also pulled apart the rear axle since it was leaking past the seals, and the remaining gear oil was a nasty water mixture. So, replaced bearings and seals, and the U joints on the driveshaft while we were at it. I learned it is not fun to remove the center section by yourself underneath the truck. Those suckers are heavy! There is probably a lot more that I don't remember at the moment.

77 grille swap and side moulding & New to me rims and brand spanking new tires!

My dad used this grille in all of the 73-79 trucks he owned (I think six) so it's kinda cool to use it in the bronco.

Yeah, that grille has been through a lot over the years. A few of the side mounting tabs had corroded away so I had to get creative to fix that. I really like the 77 grille so much more than the 79.

My next project for the bronco is to build a rear bumper/ spare tire carrier for it. I have an independent metals class so I would be able to do it at school as one of my projects. Below is a picture of what I am thinking of doing.
