U want how much?

Post by Mancar1 »

Stopped to check out this Bump and had my laugh for the day.
The guy is asking $30,000.00 and there is no bag of gold in the bed.
I am thinking it will b 4 sale a long while.

Wow!!! It must be that one very rare, one off bumpside!    It's hard to believe that he could actually tell you that price with out laughing himself. I guess he is really not that interested in selling it.

Im all for getting big bucks for our trucks that alot of us payed very little for but, to compare a 42 year old truck to a new one even without some options I think is a little bit like apples to oranges. They are both round but everything is different between the two and the orange is 40 years old compared to the new apple.

There is a guy in a nearby city that owns a wood stove store. He has nice products and a good business. But all that money walking through the front door has given him a sense of entitlement. He showed me his totally restored 1968 Mercury M100 c/w 460 and C6. They did a real good job on the restoration, but for sale at $49,000!!! I don't think so! :nono: Yup, that was worth a good laugh too! :D

Back in 68 I worked in a local lumber mill and made a good wage. $4.10 a hour. Now that was around $7,872.00 a year, (Gross not net). All things considered a truck back then cost about the same as a truck cost now.
You can get a new Ford F-150 with A/T and A/C in the Mid $20,000. range. If you want all the goodies which Trucks did not have back in the bump days then you get into the $45,000. range and up. Just my opinion.

Yeah, but they don't have a really cool bump running down both sides! :D

I'm not sure about buying a new car or truck. :hmm: It looks to me by watching the new car ads on TV that those guys can no longer afford a razor after they make their purchase. Sure they got a new Cadillac or Audi but the new owners look like just out from under a rail car. Scary that they give up so much to look like "Feddie the Freeloader!" But wow, just look at their car and rented suit! :zz: It just makes me work harder on my Mercury restoration. They have one of about 250,000. But our trucks are all "one of a kind!"

Another good point for the new Ford trucks, they won't rust! Send all your aluminum cans to Ford.
