dents are good.

Post by Trampus »

I was thinking today as I was about to undergo the process of pulling all my dents on my truck before I set into painting it......

This dent has been here (more than likely) longer than I have been alive. At the young age of 33 it's likely that most of the body imperfections were there before I got out of diapers. So why not let him keep them. So, I paint the dents into the new coat of pretty, stand back with a smile and think of what fence post, shopping cart, or rogue branch had given my truck the totally unique physique it has today.

Rust on the other hand is a cancer and must be cut out and fixed at the earliest possible moment.

I thought you were referring to 73-79 Ford trucks when you said dents are good. I was going to say they make good parts trucks if you want a 460. :D

When I told my Mother that we were going to restore our '59 Edsel Corsair she was quite pleased. Dad and Mom ordered the car brand new in the fall of 1958 and it was delivered to our local Ford Dealer as a new '59 in the fall of '58 and has been here ever since. I asked her about some of the small dents in the chrome trim and she said, "some we talk about and most we don't talk about." So I left them in, hardly noticeable but a tribute to the good times we had in that wonderful car. Luv you Mom and Dad!
