Anyone watching the new fast and loud, they still have the old shop truck in the show. I guess this was done before they sold it.

I watched it, loved when they show up to the auction with all the original cars selling for great money and expecting their chop-rod to do the same. I thought they got a decent price for it but I don't think it was a great value if it was built so quickly.

Did anyone notice that during their 'first drive' the headliner was dynamat?

SORRY I havent responded because I actually spend my time building cars, not playing on my computer, and I wont say if it actually sold, its not my place to, like I said ,when I left the auction the in house bid was over $40,000,(there were a few people bidding heavy- and no they were'nt schills) there were no phone bids while I was still there, so what was shown was after I left and was new to me,,but the truck drew more attention than most anything else there . REMEMBER its a freakin TV SHOW!,, enjoy it, hate it I dont care and the network evidently dosent either since they are still filming and getting ready for a 4 way build-off, so enough people must support it.

It is sort of growing on me, I think you just have to consider it entertainment not reality.

I did notice the Corvette motor, obviously I'm a Ford guy but the valve covers looked a bit too rounded for a small block?

I still watch it every week and hope it stays on the air. Makes me wish I had a shop to call my own but as they've shown its not always easy money.

That was my favorite show on all week. I like that there is not a lot of bickering and drama and where I would prefer that bumps stay out of the lime light in in affordable price range, I think it is very well put together. The shop truck is still my favorite rig so far, but I am a funny guy like that I guess...

69timemachine wrote:....The other weird thing was when Richard bought a '67 Corvette Stingray and was going on and on about how it was a "435HP 427 with three deuces", then when he's selling it, the camera shows a two-second shot of the engine and it's clearly a small block with a single 4-barrel Holley. Maybe they were just trying to add suspense to the show, saying they found a rare big block '67 Vette. Two seconds is more than enough time to tell a big block from a small block though. They must think we're dummies.
Curiosity got the better of me, google "fast and loud 427 corvette". The car has been for sale twice recently and is currently on Ebay (edit the auction ended, but is still visible).

http://www.corvette-dealers.com/used-fo ... vette.html

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... rid=229466

These guys appear to have debunked a lot of it, but still the car could be valuable, interesting that one person mentions installing a similar motor and "restamping" it (emphasis added). One would think he would have caught some flack for that.

http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbthre ... s/500519/1
Ignoring the claims on the Reedman/Baldwin Motion relationship for now as all Motion items on the car are reproduction from eBay, can we discuss the paperwork this Corvette retains? If you were ever going to restore a car back to its original configuration, this is ideal! Besides the blinker markers in the fenders, the nose looks mint. The 1/4s have not been flared and side pipes have not been added. With all the clones and fake BBC cars flooding the '67 Corvette market, at least if you restamp a motor correctly for this car you have bullet proof paper authenticating the car's originality. Teal/Teal happens to be a drop-dead gorgeous color combination when done right...

Awesome car hauler on page 2 as well... even if it is off brand... :P

Also apparently gas monkey went off on everyone for not watching the show and knowing it wasn't the correct engine, but I did watch it and don't recall it being mentioned...must have hit the cutting room floor...

[Edit 2 - LOL - apparently our man Richard had quite an issue with another forum sometime back, you guys can find that on your own]

HAHA, a guy on that 67-72 chevy truck forum thought the shop truck was a
"rusty f250, new short block, mark 2 front end, $5 sticker on the rear windows".
Thought that was kind of funny.
Also, at the 33 minute mark of the show, the caption said 1967 F1, not F100.

Just saw the show for the first time... I like my boxwood truck better with all the trim and FE motor. I wish the 50K sale was real !

Their painter KC owns the truck. He traded it for a Harley then traded back here is a video after he got the truck back.
