wow, didn't expect $50k! Guess he really worked the crowd, I was starting to worry he was going to lose money after he said how much he had in it. But damn! That is all good for the rest of us, hopefully that kind of exposure will help the market value of these 67-72 trucks. Some encouragement too for those who are in deep!

The truck looked sweet, I thought about those wheels when I was shopping around but my rearend was too narrow for them.

I about freaked out watching that show last night was a copy of my truck lol even down to the color. See for us up north $2500 for that truck was a steal and then to throw the crown vic cross and dohc 4v in. I was even going to run those shelby wheels but picked up a used set of cali special wheels off a 2008 mustang with rubber for the price of one wheel. Missed the part on when they dropped the motor in I'll have to watch again see how well the headers fit.
When they were loading the parts the grill looked mint and polished in the bubble wrap

Thought it was interesting winning bid was by phone, the magic of the discovery channel?

Considering it is a reality show, it is pretty cool I reckon. No shortage of bump love, with three in it so far! Like many reality shows, they use a deadline to build suspense. I don't think I could ever trust the craftsmanship of a vehicle built in a week, no matter what show it was on. They said they were going off the body work that had already been done. Who's to say that quality body work had been done on it by the previous owner? However, it was definitely a sweet truck when finished! Did anyone notice that it had the rear bumper on it during the testdrive, but when it rolled into the auction, it was off? I found that a bit odd! :?

In case anyone missed the show:

Something I noticed.. in the beginning when they picked it up it had a 70-72talk bed with cutouts for side marker lights..

The truck is nice I was in it last week and It runs / drives great, averages 20 mpg and made 246 rwhp on the chassis dyno with the oem 93 electronics so not bad for a rolling brick wall. Also you guys have to remember this is a tv show so take everything you saw with a grain of salt, and as far as build quality Aaron and KC do great work , KC does all our body work and has for years, Aaron is a great fabricator , one of the best Ive seen..plus it should help the bump market for sure. Being it is aired for entertainment , just enjoy watching and supporting the show.. Thanks..

I have watched the show ever week and most times it is lame. He pays way to much ad sells for less? I guess you make the profit by quantity.? :D
I gotta to say I love that truck. When I bought my Camper special I was looking for a F100 to slam to the ground. I am not a fan of big wheels but that set just works.

I LOVE this truck! I've been going back and forth in my head about sticking with my satin black or going back to its factory Lunar Green or Boxwood Green (green is my favorite color). I love the look of my truck now and I won't be doing anything for quite a while but that Boxwood sure looks beautiful on that truck...I like the gunmetal or whatever color on the bumpers, grille, and handles. It works well with the green.

BTW...I've watched every episode and Aaron seems to really know his stuff and I share very similar tastes as far as the overall look of the projects. This build was done in a week and I'm sure there was little sleep by all involved. Remember, it's a week crammed into a 45 minute show by the time you remove the commercials...they don't show us everything. Also, it's made for TV. They have to inject a little something to keep it interesting otherwise, it would be a very quiet 'how-to' show with countless gaps in information given.

They lost $700 on the deal. What was interesting
For me was that when it went across the block
It was billed as a 68 with a 360. It was definitely
A 67 and had an fe motor. Should have been a
352.
Yup I caught that too...

And as far as the Frankenford, I'd be a little afraid to buy a truck that was only finished hours before auction. It wasn't even at the pre-auction inspection and it sold for $50k sight unseen?? I think TV edit for drama took place. :D

They spent more time talking about seat upholstery compared to the headliner than the Crown Vic front suspension etc! Nice looking truck though!

Nothing a quick centrifugal supercharger bolt-on couldn't fix! I mean, anyone who has $50K to spend for the truck probably has money for a Vortech too, right? :?

When that 4.6 4V kicks the bucket, imagine what dropping in a 5.0 Coyote would do for that truck!!! I think the crate 5.0 is only like $6K!

if Im not mistaken, thats rwhp? meaning they had it on a chassis dyno and it put that to the rear wheels... im sure its no race truck, but id bet its more fun to drive than anybodies stock bump...
